How do I connect my Mac and iPhone?

Install OpenLocker on both devices. On your Mac, complete the local lock check and click Generate pairing code. On your iPhone or iPad, tap Add Mac, scan the code, check the device information, and tap Pair Mac. The home screen then shows the current status and a slide-to-lock control.

My pairing code expired

Pairing codes last five minutes. Revoke the old registration on your Mac and generate a new code. Do not share your code or pairing link with anyone.

Why is the status unknown?

Your Mac may be asleep, offline, or no longer running the app. The local lock check may also be incomplete. Check the Mac first, then reconnect and refresh on your phone. A previous lock result is not proof of the current state.

The connection keeps reconnecting

Make sure only one copy of OpenLocker is running on the Mac. Quit older copies before opening a newly downloaded version, and move the app to your Applications folder.

Locking did not succeed

Repeat the local lock check on your Mac. If the fallback method needs Accessibility permission, request it from the app and confirm it in System Settings. OpenLocker does not remotely unlock or wake your Mac.

Check the connected device

Both apps show local and paired device information, including the device name, model identifier, OS version, and app version. Open Device & security on either device to view the full details. Within the same pairing, compare each device’s key fingerprint on both ends. Names and models are reported by the device and do not establish identity by themselves. Previously received information is not proof that a device is currently online.

I replaced or lost my phone

On your Mac, choose Revoke access and remove this pairing. Your old phone immediately loses local trust. Removing a Mac on the phone alone does not revoke the Mac-side pairing.

I cannot generate a pairing code right now

To limit automated abuse, the public service caps registrations per network address and across the service. Try again later. Reaching a new-registration limit does not revoke existing paired devices.

Face ID and App Lock

In the app settings, choose Use Face ID or device passcode. When enabled, verify once when opening the app or returning from the background. Refreshing, reconnecting, navigating, and locking do not prompt again. When disabled, you can access paired devices directly. Unlocking the Mac still requires normal system authentication on the Mac.

Change the language

The apps support English and Simplified Chinese and follow your preferred app or system language. Reopen the app after changing its language in system settings. On this website, use the language link to switch between the two versions.

Contact support

Report a problem on the OpenLocker project issues page. Include your OS version and the error message. Do not post pairing codes, keys, device credentials, or personal information from your screen.
